ONE TIP
4 Alignment Rods you need to set up!

As part of last week's email, I talked about setting up your workstation when practicing as part of the six things you need to do to have the best practice session you can. this week I'm going to break down exactly what I mean by setting up that workstation and how you can do it with four alignment rods. Click here to check out last week’s email.

I dive into this topic deeper in the video below, check it out!

#1 Toe Line

An alignment rod on your toe line which is between the golf ball and your feet is one of the most commonly used alignment rods in setup.  This is a bare minimum requirement for all practice sessions. Using this alignment rod can give you a simple visual starting point for where you're trying to hit this shot and as a result where your toe line should be as a result.

#2 Ball Position

The alignment rod for your ball position runs perpendicular to your toe line alignment rod creating a T.  Especially if you're coming off of a long break it is so important to know exactly where your ball position is. A ball position that moves whether it be one ball too far forward or one ball too far back will affect the results of your golf shots. Get this alignment rod down nor your ball position is and make sure it's where it needs to be

#3 Club Face Alignment

Now we're starting to get to the next level. The club face alignment Rod is set up in front of the golf ball and should be pointing exactly where you want your golf ball to start. Not where you want it to finish, but where you want it to start. Now when you come into a golf shot you have something very clear to align your club face to in your setup.

#4 Start Line

The last one is for your start line. This alignment rod should be in an ideal world at least six feet in front of you. It should be slightly offset from where you want your golf ball to start relative to your Miss. For example, if you're a player who struggles with starting your golf ball too far left you will set up your alignment rod just slightly left of your start line to hit shots with the ball starting to the right of the rod. For so many players who struggle with a directional miss oftentimes has a lot to do with where they're looking. When you set up this alignment rod for the first time it might look like it is way more to the left or to the right than what you would normally expect. Go behind the golf ball and check this several times and you'll notice if there's a chance you're looking in the wrong spot. That's why I think this alignment rod for many of you is the most important one to set up.

ONE QUOTE
Some Brutal Honesty around your scores

If you tell yourself after every single round that you should have shot lower scores, there is only one of two things that are possible:
1) You are not as good as you think you are
2) You made mental and strategic mistakes.

- Scott Fawcett from Decade Golf in a recent interview
